Selection of a Photovoltaic Panel Cooling Technique Using Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis

Photovoltaic panel performance in terms of its efficiency and durability is severely affected by operating temperature when the much higher than nominal cell hot climates. Different cooling methods have been reported over several decades, but photovoltaic manufacturers or users are yet to adopt a popular method cooling. This main concern present work. Potential solutions differ their criteria for evaluation, which enhancement, costs, reliability, environmental aspects ergonomics. Hence, there need identify optimum method. Eight different were identified, analysis was made with multi-criteria tool on possible attributes. Two climate zones weight schemes considered evaluation process, best worst identified. Five scenarios depending importance given each criterion analyzed. The has arranged under scenario. When operation maximum weight, aluminum fin proved be emission reduction thermosiphon option. A comparison results indicates that works out second-best found forced convection equal weights applied 40% enhancement applied, more practical distribution. Phase change had poorest among all weighing scenarios.
